Access Office 365 Email and Troubleshooting Tips

Process Summary: You can easily acces GAVS Office 365 email by clicking on the Mail icon inside Brightspace or by going directly to https://login.microsoftonline.com/. You'll log in with your full email address (email@example.com) and the same password you use to access classes. We'll also look at how to solve common email access issues.
Access Email 1
To access email, log in to your classes. At the top, there's a Mail icon.

The icon in Brightspace will bring you here to log in. You can also access this page directly at https://login.microsoftonline.com/. Sign in with your full GAVS email address and your GAVS password.
If you receive an error, here are some common troubleshooting steps:
1. Make sure you're using your full email address (not just username, but firstname.lastname@example.org) and the same password you use to log in to GAVS.
2. Password requirements: to access Office 365, your password must be between 8 and 16 characters and it must not contain special characters: ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ), etc. Only upper/lower case letters and numbers. You can change your password by logging in to GAVS and selecting Profile from the left side (on the same screen where you click My Classes).
3. If you change your password, it will take up to 20 minutes for it to sync with Office 365. Simply wait, and your new password will sync.
4. Your Office account is ready to use after your enrollment is completed. You won't have email access if you're not enrolled in a course or in the process of enrolling.
