Georgia Virtual School provides reasonable accommodations and/or
modifications for students with a current IEP or 504 Plan in place at their local
public school. The local school system must inform Georgia Virtual School the
student is being served under a special needs plan and fax the information in for
determination of appropriate on-line supports. Special needs students in private
or homeschool settings may qualify to be served under a 504 Plan.

Georgia Virtual School can be an excellent match for a student who is being served by a
hospital/homebound program. Public school students should provide the hospital homebound
paperwork from their local public school. Private or homeschool students should provide a
doctor’s note describing the situation. Documentation should be emailed to Sarah Newman at snewman@doe.k12.ga.us.
